Welcome to our small town hub of local history in the East Texas Piney Woods. We want to provide an easily accessible opportunity for children and adults to be better informed about the industrial growth, stories, and lives that built Big Sandy Texas.
Members of the museum spent years gathering artifacts and support to provide our town with collections of Big Sandy history. Come expand your knowledge of the city, railroad, legends, and local heroes.
Our Mission
Our main mission is to educate the community about the work we do at Museum of Big Sandy Texas and facilitate their appreciation for the field. We are committed to educating through our Museum, one exhibit or event at a time. There is always something new and exciting happening, and our knowledge is always expanding.
